How to Play YouTube Videos in Background

Does this really upsets you that when you are listening/watching a Video on YouTube App and then you get an important message or you have other work to do then you switch to another app and the video stops. Wouldn't it be amazing if you can play youtube videos in background and do your work simultaneously, for this I have compiled a list of methods which can do this trick for you:


1)Youtube Background play-Xposed Module

=>Recommended Method.

-Just play the video and exit the app the video will continue playing in background
-You can play playlists in the background also.
-Quick access buttons in notifications also to play/pause video and next/previous option.
-The small size of the app.  
What you need to do is search youtube background play app on Xposed Repository install it and reboot your phone to activate it.
Requires Root and Xposed Framework installed.

2) Tubemate App

-It lets you download videos from Youtube and from other video streaming sites also.
-Can download videos in many formats (3gp,mp4,mp3,m4a,flv,webm).
If you want to play video in the background but not download video, we can do this also.
Download MXplayer, now open the video you want to play in the background and then press the green down arrow button at top select the format and then tap play and select play then select MX Player.
MX player has an option to play videos in the background for this tap play button then long press pause button to enable background play. The only disadvantage is you can play only one video at a time.

3) Mozilla Browser trick

Download Mozilla browser on your  phone. Open YouTube in it and tap the three dot menu (on top right corner) and select desktop. Play any video and leave the app and done. You can play entire playlists also.

4) Most of the Youtube video background player apps are removed form Playstore due to obvious licensing reasons except for one Awesome Pop video app.

-It lets you play videos in picture-in-picture mode like multi-tasking. 
-Playlist support , chromecast, customization and etc

5)AudioPocket

-It converts video into audio and then play them in the background.
-Supports playlists.
-Option for fast forward and rewind
-Saves Data by converting videos into audio
-It is free but there are in-app purchases to get rid of ads and audio quality etc.

Well, still if you say none of these tricks interests you buy YouTube Red (not available in many countries including India) which costs 10$/month having features like totally Adfree, take videos offline and play videos in the background.
